Age 89, of Wilmington, DE, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, June 16, 2015.Born in Smyrna, DE, James was the son of the late Benjamin F. and Mary C. (Alexander) Green and a graduate of Conrad High School. He served his country proudly in the US Marine Corps during World War II and later, worked as a carpenter, retiring after working for John Healy for 10 years. He was a life member of VFW 7234 in Ocean View and of the DAV. He was formerly a member of the American Legion Durney Post. His hobbies included fishing, hunting and crabbing.James was predeceased by his wife, Evalyn (Coen) Green in 2007. He is survived by nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be celebrated on Saturday, June 20th at 10:30 AM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, where friends are invited to visitation after 9:30 AM.
