James Joseph Gleason, Sr. age 85, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, James was the son of the late Anna (Reynolds) and Thomas Gleason. He spent his career working as a printing journeyman-pressman for the Philadelphia Inquirer for 45 years. During his retirement, Jimmy enjoyed socializing with friends and spending time with family at the Avalon shore.

In addition to his parents, James was predeceased by his longtime partner, Claire Campbell. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Jim and Lydia Gleason, Terry and Laura Gleason, David and Jackie Gleason, Tom and Christina Gleason. In addition, he will be missed by Christine Ramsey, Charles and Nicole Campbell, Glenn Campbell, sisters, nieces, nephews and his many grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held privately.
