Helen Mary Ogorek, 101, a long-time resident of Hockessin, Delaware, died peacefully on September 1, 2018 of natural causes in Hockessin.Helen was born February 10, 1917 in Wilmington, Delaware. Helen was the sole surviving member of seven children; father, Alexander; mother, Mary (Wisniewski); sister, Jennie Chiffons; and brothers, Peter, Charles, Joseph, Alex, and Edward Ogorek. She is survived by 18 nieces and nephews and many grandnieces and nephews. Helen earned her nursing degree at Brown Vocational School and cared for premature babies at the Wilmington Memorial and Wilmington General Hospitals. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Saint Mary of Assumption Church, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin on September 6, 2018 at 11 AM. The family will greet friends beginning at 10 AM. Interment will follow at the All Saints Cemetery, Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seasons Hospice, 4755 Ogletown Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19718.
