Helen Sill Jackson, age 88, of Wilmington, where she was currently living with her son, Rick Shoemaker, was born on March 16, 1936, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

In 1981 when JP Morgan bank opened in Delaware, Helen was among the first 100 hired and she retired in 1998. She and her husband Ed moved to Millsboro and while living in Millsboro, Helen was employed by County Bank in Rehoboth Beach. In her free time, Helen volunteered for various organizations.

Waiting to greet Helen when she enters her new home are her parents, Les and Lola Sill; husband, Edward Jackson; son, William "Bud" Shoemaker; brothers, Francis "Les" and John Sill; and niece Daniele Albanese.

Survivors include her son, Richard "Rick" Shoemaker, with whom she lived; sister, Ann Herrin (Woodie); sisters-in-law, Lorraine Sill, Gladys Sill, and Joan Krakowski; bonus sons Edward and Bruce Jackson; and bonus grandchildren, Samantha and Breydan. Helen is also survived by her special daughter-in-law, Martha Shoemaker ("Bud" dec'd); Martha's sons, Anthony (Di) and Matthew (Jodie) Reilly; Reilly grandchildren Mason, Dylan, Blake, and Kendall; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends from both the Sill and Shoemaker families.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington at 12 PM, where friends may visit after 11 AM. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the visiting staff of Bayada Hospice for their comfort and care for Helen during this difficult time.
