Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Helen E Bogert. She passed away peacefully at Kentmere Nursing Home, on June 4, 2021, just 2 months shy of her 100th birthday. Born in Wilmington, DE on August 11, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Sabina (Clarke) and Edward Schofield. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband Joseph K, her brothers, Edward and Joseph Schofield; and her sister, Alice Monagle. Helen was a member of The Irish Culture Club & proudly marched in many of their St. Patrick's Day Parades. She was a lifelong member of St. Elizabeth's Church, where she was known to be seen at daily Mass. Helen is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen Bogert of Ellendale, DE and Elizabeth Losito of Wilmington, DE. She was a caring and loving Mommom to her grandchildren, Jamie & Jeff Krajewski, Carrie Crowther & Christian, Marianne & Monica Losito, as well as 7 Great Grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Paul, Jimmy & Zeke, as well as her sisters Patricia Bennett and Mary Davis. A visitation will be held on Wednesday June 9, 2021 from 5 P.M to 7 P.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE. A visitation will also be held on Thursday June 10, 2021 from 9 am to 10 am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Clayton and Cedar Streets, Wilmington, DE 19805.
