Gustas M. Keenan

Gustas M. Keenan, age 70, a lifelong resident of Wilmington, passed away on September 19th, 2026.

Born and raised in Wilmington, he was the son of the late Evenia (Trakas) and Harry E. Keenan. Gus graduated from Wilmington High School and attended the University of Kansas. He served his country honorably in the United States Army, before going on to begin his career at Congoleum. Gussy loved playing golf and fishing when he was still able, and of course, visiting Delaware Park. He was an avid Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles fan. Gussy enjoyed tinkering with things and was always interested in learning more about how they would work. Gussy enjoyed family dinners and spending the holidays with his siblings, nieces, and nephews.

He is predeceased by his parents and his brother, Charles “Chick” Trakas. He is survived by his sibling and their spouses, Joseph and Zina Keenan, George and Donna Keenan, and Bonnie and Norbert Quigley; many nieces, nephews, and close friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday September 25th from 10 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11:30 A.M. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 9th and Dupont Streets, Wilmington, DE 19805. In honor of Gus, we encourage you to wear Philadelphia Phillies or Eagles clothing or colors in his memory. Burial will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
