Obituary

Giovannina (Jenny) Piccone was born on August 11, 1923 to Antonio and Giusseppina Milano in Marsico Nuovo, Italy. Tragically, her mother died when she was 9 years old. She had a difficult childhood but she never forgot how her mother taught her to pray and always had a desire get close to God and read the Bible.

In 1954 Jenny and her sister, Rosa, immigrated to the United States. They both worked in a garment factory in Philadelphia. That's where Jenny met Tony who would become her loving husband of 40 years. When Tony brought her home to meet his parents, she found something else she had been searching for - a Bible. She was so happy she could finally learn about the God her mother taught her to pray to. Shortly thereafter, she dedicated her life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Jenny and Tony were married February 26, 1955. Jenny loved children and became a loving mother to Deborah and Sara. Even though she only had two children, the house was always full of family and friends. She loved her nephews Tony, Ralph and Lou and her nieces Josie and Maria like her own children.

Jenny loved to work in the garden and see things grow. She especially liked growing fruits and vegetables because she loved to cook! She loved to feed anyone that came to her house and everyone loved eating her food. Even when she could no longer work in her garden, she was comforted knowing that in the Paradise earth to come she would be able to plant her fig trees and grow her grape vines. She loved telling people about that hope.

Giovannina is survived by her daughters Deborah Piccone and Sara Conti and her husband Joseph. She is also survived by her nephews and nieces, Tony and his wife Tina Milano, Maria and her husband Francesco Bosica, Josephine Milano, Ralph and his wife Cindy Caruso, and Veda Caruso wife of Lou Caruso and great nieces and nephews.
