George "Tailpipe" Merris Taylor, IV, age, 78 of Wilmington, DE passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Wilmington, DE and graduated from Conrad High School. George retired from APEX after 30 years being a pipefitter. He spent his retirement doing what he loved the most; being a devoted husband to his bride of over 52 years, Ethel "Eppy" Taylor and raising his family. Tailpipe's passions included spending time at Woodland Beach, caring for animals, collecting baseball cards, and an extensive coin collection.
He was predeceased by his wife, Eppy Taylor in 2014, his son George "Iggy" Taylor, V in 2019. Also predeceased by his uncle, Bob Melson, the founder of the Iron Hill Museum and his sister Jane Taylor.
George is survived by his sons and their wives, Kelly and Sue Taylor of Newport, Joe and Tiffani Taylor of Hartly; his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Lee Taylor with whom he lived in Pike Creek; his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Holly and Clem (Karlie), Geo (Autumn), Destiny (Audrey, Alex, Ava), Meredith, June, Ben, Jeremy and Natalie (JD), Stephanie (Aubrey, Austin), and Heather and Cody (Oliver George on the way!).
Funeral services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in his memory be made to the St. Joseph's Indian School, 1301 N. Main Street, Chamberlain, SD 57325
