Obituary

George Joseph Green of Nottingham, PA died peacefully on April 1st, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Wilmington, DE, he went to St. Elizabeth's Grade School and was a proud graduate of Salesianum High School.  During his high school summers, he was a lifeguard in Cape May, NJ and it was during this time that he decided to join the U.S. Coast Guard Reserve after he graduated from high school.  He continued in the Reserves for 8 years and finished as a Petty Officer First Class.

He had a career with DuPont for 33 years.  During this time, he was with the Underground Piping Systems for Gas Distribution managing various territories, receiving the DuPont Marketing Excellence Award in 1989.  He continued with Uponor for a few years after this and then Ford Bacon Davis in Connecticut.  After four years at Keystone Pipeline Services in Wilkes Barre, PA, he was finally able to retire from his position as President.

In his free time, he enjoyed wood working, playing his banjo in a Blue Grass Band for years, and savored many cherished memories with his good friends in the Gourmet Club.  Fishing with his dear buddy, Bill, gave him great pleasure.  George spent many happy times boating on the Delaware Bay and offshore from Indian Landing, DE and traveling extensively with his wife, Patti.

George is predeceased by his parents John T. and Matilda Green; two brothers, Thomas and Leonard Green; and two sisters, Maryanne Uffleman and Matilda Gallagher.

George is survived by his devoted wife of 61 years, Patricia (Fuqua) Green. He is also survived by his children, Suzanne Apostolico (Philip), George Green (Barbara), Joellen Reindl (Thomas) and Christine Sappia (Dean); 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. George is also survived by two brothers, Lawrence Green (Phoebe) and David Green (Paula); his two sisters, Patricia McClafferty and Alice Meyers (David); his brother-in-law, Bob Uffleman; and his sister-in-law, Sandra Green. His love for his family was always known by all and will never be forgotten.
