Frederick J. Cushing, Sr., "Fred", 70 of Wilmington passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Christiana Hospital.

Fred was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Anna Virginia (Smith) and William Cushing. He graduated from DeLaWarr High School and received his Associate's Degree from Wesley College.  Fred retired as a field supervisor for Southland Corporation (7-11 stores) after 34 years.

Fred will be missed by his wife of 45 years, Peggy (Brennan) Cushing; his sons and their wives, Aaron and Michele Cushing of Glenside, PA, Josh and Andrea Cushing of Wilmington and Freddie Cushing, Jr. of Wilmington; his grandchildren, Jill, Caitlin, Miranda, Jack, Abby, Colin and Dylan; his sisters, Lillian Warrick and Kathy Widdoes and her husband, Dave, all of Wilmington.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at Fred's sister Kathy's home, from 1 to 5 PM.Please contact the funeral home for more details.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Helen Graham Cancer Center, 4701 Ogletown Stanton Rd, Newark, DE 19713.
