Frank C. Browning, 89 of Wilmington passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Christiana Hospital.

Frank was born in Queens, NY the son of the late Mildred (Higbie) and Frank C. Browning. His mother was widowed early when Frank was young. According to his stories, the antics of his reckless youth were immediately quelled when he decided to join the US Marine Corps at the age of 17. He served his country during the Korean Conflict and remained in the Marine Corps for 14 years. After his service to our country, Frank worked as a sales manager for Sears in New York before retiring in Delaware in 1986, where he was a shuttle driver for Union Park Pontiac. Frank was predeceased by his sister, Jane Canty and his first wife, Carol J. Browning in 1963

Frank will be dearly missed by his second wife of 59 years, Carol J. (Connelly) Browning; his daughters and their husbands, Kim and Lou Marconi of Wilmington, Jamie and Joseph Moreo of Ocean Pines, MD and Miriam and Derrick Herbert of Long Beach, NY; his sons and their wives, Frank and Kathy Browning of Chesterfield, VA and Timothy and Xenia Browning of Barnegat, NJ; his grandchildren, Kerry, Jennifer and Frank Browning, Nicholas, Giselle and Christopher Moreo, Michael and Timothy Browning and Matthew Ugarte; and his sister, Mickie Mancuso of Boynton Beach, FL.

Friends may call at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, from 11 AM to 12 Noon. A service will begin at Noon. Burial will be private.
