Francis William Hahn “Mike” age 90 died on August 10, 2026 at the Lorelton Assisted Living Facility.
He was the son of the late Paul J. Hahn and Elizabeth Abernethy Hahn. Mike was predeceased by his wife, Peggy Hahn; his brothers, Robert, P. James, John and Peter as well as sisters, Patsy and Joan. He is survived by his sisters Elizabeth Hahn and Jean Hahn Mulrine, as well as several loving nieces and nephews.
Mike was a graduate of Salesianum School after which he served in the U.S. Army. He was a gifted athlete and played on several teams in his youth. He was drafted by the former Milwaukee Braves in the minor leagues before beginning a career at General Motors. Mike worked for many years at the Pompano Beach Golf Course in Florida, eventually retiring to Myrtle Beach, a place he loved, making friends and perfecting his golf game along the way. He left this world the same way he lived—with a twinkle in his eye, and a joke for anyone within earshot. His wit stayed sharp right to the end. He will be sorely missed.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Rd, Wilmington, DE 19807 on Tuesday, August 18 at 10:30 AM, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mike's memory may be made to St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, at the address above.
