Francis P.
Fiorelli "Frank"
July 5, 1932 – April 6, 2023
Francis P. Fiorelli, 90 of Wilmington passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 6, 2023 at the Lorelton Nursing Home.
Frank was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Mary (Dougherty) and Joseph Fiorelli. While growing up in Wilmington, he attended St. Paul's grade school and graduated Salesianum High School, Class of 1950. He also attended St. Joseph's University and the University of Delaware, until the passing of his father. Frank then enlisted in the U.S. Army and served in the Counter Intelligence Corp (CIC) during the 1950's. He was one of only 3 people within the tri-state area to pass the test for admission into the program.
Once Frank was honorably discharged from the Army, he began his life after the military. Marrying the woman of his dreams, Emma Jane Mulderic, they soon settled down in the suburbs to start a family. Frank first worked as an insurance adjuster and finished his lengthy career as a paralegal. He was fun-loving and always had a great story to tell. Quite often, when celebrating with friends and family, Frank became the main character of a great story!
He was an avid sports fan and golfer. Frank played in a Monday Night league at Delcastle Golf Club, for many years. He even recorded his only hole-in-one, while playing Hercules Country Club. Most of all, Frank enjoyed watching the Philadelphia Phillies every summer night on the back porch with his wife Emmy.
In addition to his parents, Frank was predeceased by his brothers, Joseph and John "Jack" Fiorelli and his wife of 50 years, Emma Jane "Emmy" Fiorelli in 2017. Frank is survived by his daughter, Michelle Fiorelli of Wilmington; his son, Vincent Fiorelli of Newark, sisters-in-law Christine Fiorelli of Wilmington and Katherine Buckley of Wilmington, along with many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Lorelton and Compassionate Care Hospice for the exceptional care and comfort they provided for Frank.
