Eugenia J. Cox, 93 of Newark passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2023 at Millcroft Nursing Home.

Eugenia was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Pauline (Hoffer) Moran. She graduated from St. Paul's Commercial School and worked part-time at Acme and the Carousel Gift Shop. Eugenia was an avid bowler and had a great sense of humor.

Eugenia was predeceased by her husband, Robert W. Cox, Sr. in 2006; her brother, William Kreske; her sister, Paula Moran and her son-in-law, Thomas B. Denton.

Eugenia will be dearly missed by her daughter, Paula A. Denton (David) of Bear; her son, Robert W. Cox, Jr. (Jae) of Los Angeles, CA; her granddaughters, Lori Hammed (Nick) and Kylie Cox-Toyota and her brother, Thomas Moran (Patricia) of New Castle.

The family would like to add a special thank you to the staff of Millcroft and Vitas hospice for all their care and compassion.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington at 11 AM, where friends may call after 10 AM. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
