Eugene E. McCormick, Jr. "Gene", "Gino", 57 of Wilmington passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at Wilmington Hospital.

Gene was born in Wilmington, the son of Patricia A. (Cassidy) and Eugene E. McCormick, Sr.  He was a 1983 graduate of St. Mark's High School and graduated from the University of Delaware in 1988.  Gene worked in the restaurant business for 35 years at various places, mostly recently at the Hotel DuPont for the past couple of years.  He was also a realtor with Berkshire Hathaway in Greenville for over 10 years.  His memberships included the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the NAACP and the ACLU.

Gene is survived by his son, Flynn McCormick of Middletown; his daughter, Cassidy McCormick of Wilmington; his mother, Patricia A. Johnson of Wilmington; his father, Eugene E. McCormick, Sr. of Newark; his sister, Lynne R. Carr of Wilmington and his partner, Joann Smiley of Wilmington.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Fourth Street and Bancroft Parkway at 11 AM, where friends may visit after 9 AM.  Burial will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
