Esther Pesthy, 88, passed away on November 2, 2015 at Brackenville Center, Hockessin, DE. She was the third child of Joseph and Kathleen Lapu. Esther was born in Nagykoros, Hungary on December 15, 1926. Esther and her husband, Andrew Pesthy, Sr. defected from Hungary in 1957. She and her young family immigrated to the United States that same year, and eventually settled in the Newark, DE area. Esther was a homemaker who tirelessly worked to provide a safe and culturally rich environment for her family. She never regretted leaving Hungary and deeply appreciated the freedom and security living in the U.S. afforded her family. She is survived by her daughter Judy Pesthy of San Antonio, TX, and three sons Andrew Pesthy and his wife Mariana of Bryn Mawr, PA, John Pesthy and his wife Sarah of Newark, DE and Paul Pesthy of Stuttgart, Germany; her grandchildren John Fallers, Kathleen Andrews, Elek Pesthy, Logan Pesthy, Valeria Pesthy, and Niklas Pesthy.
