Age 54, of Bear, DE, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Seasons Hospice.Born in Pennsylvania, Eric was the son of Rosemary (Gilpin) and the late Earl Shoop. He was a 1981 graduate of William Penn High School and worked for Everfast in merchandising. Eric loved spending time with family and friends. His grandchildren loved and adored their "Poppy". He would be so excited when they came to stay with him. Eric was an avid golfer. He also loved watching his Phillies and Eagles play.Eric will be dearly missed by his daughters and sons-in-law, Lauren and Ryan Maclary of Sneads Ferry, NC and Lindsay and Kyle Cooke of Newark, DE; his grandchildren, Emma, Khloe and Ryan II; his mother, Rosemary Shoop of Newark, DE; his sisters, Elizabeth Cook of Wilmington and Holly Byrd of Maryland; and the mother of his daughters, Geraldine Shoop.Visitation will be held on Friday, May 26th between 5 and 7 PM at Mealey Funeral Homes & Crematory, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington.
