Elizabeth F. Vanderhout, 86 of Newark, formerly of Wilmington passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 at Christiana Hospital. Elizabeth was born in Cumberland, MD, the late Virginia (Reynolds) and Cecil E Smith. She worked as a registered nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland, MD and also at the Wilmington General, Memorial Hospital and Christiana Hospital, retiring after 40 years. Elizabeth and her late husband, Bob, enjoyed fishing in Lewes and volunteering for various charities in that area. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Robert Vanderhout and her husband, Arie R. "Bob" Vanderhout in 2017. Elizabeth will be dearly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, Gregory A. and Ann Marie Vanderhout of Newark; her granddaughter, Tara Marie Justice and her partner, James Capehart of Marlton, NJ; her grandsons, Zachary R. Vanderhout and his wife, Emily of Beaver Falls, PA and Ashton "Dutch" Vanderhout of Newark. Funeral services will be private.
