Elizabeth C. "Cass" Thomas, of Hockessin, Delaware passed away peacefully on February 12, 2022, at the age of 80.

A wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Cass is survived by her four children, Fred (Barbie) Thomas of South Bethany Beach, DE, Greg (Jackie) Thomas of Tierra Verde, FL, Loretta (Chris) Tansley of Wilmington, DE, and Matt (JJ) Thomas of Havertown, PA. "Grannie" was adored by her nine grandchildren Chelsea, Kayla, Anna, Madeline, Alexandria, Hunter, Avery, Ian, and Finnegan. Recently, with great joy she welcomed her two great-grandchildren, Beckham and Declan. She is also survived by her siblings Louis (Joan), John (Peg), and Anne Gerber.

Cass was pre-deceased by her parents, Louis and Elizabeth Gerber and her sister, Beverly Hagerty.

Cass was a 1959 graduate of Ursuline Academy and retired from the law firm of Casarino, Christman & Shalk. Cass was a devout member of her parishes over the years and devoted her time to the Franciscan Center in Wilmington for many years prior to its closing along with the Jesus House. She loved baking for family and friends along with gardening in her later years at Resurrection. An avid sports fan, she was an enthusiastic follower of men's tennis and Eagles football. Her grandchildren could count on her rooting from the sidelines whether it was field hockey, soccer, lacrosse, football, or wrestling.

Visitation will be held from 10:00am to 11:00am on Friday, February 25, 2022, at Resurrection Roman Catholic Church, 3000 Videre Drive, Wilmington DE 19808.  A Mass will be held at 11:00am immediately after the visitation. Burial will be held at Cathedral Cemetery.
