Elena Alvaro Rodriguez, 89 of Wilmington passed away peacefully at Christiana Hospital on Friday, June 9, 2023.

Elena was born in El Ojo de Agua de Enmedio, GTO, Mexico, the daughter of the late Emelia (Aguilar) and Nicolas Alvaro. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Rocco Catholic Church.

Elena is survived by her husband of 72 years, Miguel Rodriguez-Fonseca; her children and their spouses, Carmen (Valentin Fonseca), Jesus (Maria Luna), Alfredo, Rigoberto (Carlota Melendres), Lucia (Lorenzo Rueda), Daniel (Lupe Aguilera), Miguel (Erika Torres), Gloria (Francisco Osorio), Lupe (Martin Villalobos), Juana (Roberto Hernandez), Salud (Estela Lemus) and Jose (Monica Lara); her grandchildren, Juan, Valentin, Irene, Maria del Carmen, Jesse, Fabiola, Alfredo' Jonathan, Rigoberto, Elena, Veronica, Jesus, Jose, Aldair,Tyler, Lizet, Daniel, Alan, Leslie, John-Paul, Joshua, Miguel, Rodrigo, Salud, Valeria, Alexis, Maricela, Lupita, Ana Cristina, Martin, Luis-Angel, Evelyn, Roberto, Miguel, Madelyn, Andrea, Emily, Michelle, Helen, Alexa and Chelsea and 36 great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends may call at St. Rocco Catholic Church, 313 Sunny Dell Rd, Avondale, PA 19311 on Friday evening from 5 to 6 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:30 PM.
