Obituary

Mr. Efthimios "Tim" Tsionas, age 79, of Wilmington, DE, a respected business man and beloved member of the Greek community, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, May 28, 2023.

Tim, born in Larissa, Greece on August 23, 1943, was the youngest son of the late Georgia and Evangelos Tsionas. In his early days, Tim, along with his brothers, owned and operated a bakery, where he enjoyed delivering loaves of bread by bike. The Tsionas brothers shared passion for entrepreneurship led them to later establish an office equipment store.

In 1970, like many young Greeks of that era, Tim made the life-changing decision to immigrate to the United States in pursuit of a better life and the proverbial American dream. He became the proud owner and operator of multiple Three Stars Pizza locations in the New Castle County area. Through hard work and unwavering determination, he ventured into the commercial real estate business, where he achieved notable success.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Tim cherished his time engaging in his favorite hobbies. He found solace in fishing and gardening at home. One of his greatest joys was returning to Greece every summer, reconnecting with his roots and basking in the embrace of his beloved homeland.

Tim's legacy extends beyond his accomplishments and passions. He was a family man, cherished by his loved ones and known for his kindness and compassion. He leaves behind cherished memories, which will forever be held dear by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

As we bid farewell to Tim, we remember his remarkable life and the indelible impact he made on those around him. His legacy will live on in our hearts as we continue to honor his spirit of resilience, determination, and love.

He is survived and will be missed dearly by his wife of 45 years, Anna Tsionas; son, Evagelos Efthimios Tsionas, daughter Fani Tsionas-Kolovos; son in law, Dimitrios Kolovos and four grandchildren, Angelika, Anna, Vasilios and Efthimios.

He was preceded in death by his three brothers, Ioannis, Kostandinos and Demitrios.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 808 N. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19806, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will follow in Silverbrook Cemetery, Lancaster Ave. and DuPont Rd., Wilmington, DE.
