Obituary

Edward Austin Roberts, "Rooster", passed away on July 17, 2025.

Born in Yorklyn, Delaware on November 17, 1942, to the late Carl Roberts and Frances (Chiffons). Ed spent the last 30 years of his life residing in Florida, where he continued to live a full and active life. He was truly a "jack of all trades", showcasing his versatility throughout his career. He drove a gasoline truck for Getty Oil Company and even had his own business as an auto mechanic. After moving to Florida, he took on the trade of grass mowing for his friend, Rich's lawn service business.

Ed was known for his enjoyment of riding his scooter and spending time with his friends at the American Legion in Hallandale Beach. It was there that his friends in Florida affectionately knew him as "Grasshopper" and "Hound Dog". There are countless stories and cherished memories of him as a friend and co-worker, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved partner, Barbara Orr; his children, Dawn and Alan Roberts; his siblings, Phillip Roberts, Sylvia Sanford, Dallas Roberts (Cindy), Doug Roberts (Barbara) and Gail Mangini (Joseph), along with many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Harold "Stump" Miller.
