Obituary

Edward Francis Curran, age 80, of Wilmington, DE passed away on March 23, 2024.

Born in Wilmington, DE he was the son of the late Dorothy (Klonowski) and John Curran. He attended the Salesianum School and graduated from James H. Groves High School. He was a proud veteran, having served his country in the United States Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Ed worked as a commercial plumbing supply salesman, spending many years at Kirk Plumbing and Heating Supply and Wilco Plumbing and Heating.

Ed was actively involved in his grandchildren's lives, having spent many years cheering them on at all of their sporting events. He never missed a game, and often traveled a distance to watch his grandchildren's games. He could be found keeping the scorebook for their baseball games, or in the stands, being their biggest cheerleader.

Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Curran in 2021; his son, Edward F. Curran, Jr; and his brothers, Jack, Jimmy, and Danny Curran. He is survived by his daughters, Christine Schafferman (Daniel) and Cathleen Barrett; his grandchildren, Daniel Jr., and Christian Schafferman, and Alexander and Carly Barrett; his great granddaughter, Maya; and his sisters-in-law, Carol and Janet Curran.
