Obituary

Edward J. Budynkiewicz, Jr., "Bundo" age 84, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on April 6, 2026.

He was a lifetime Wilmington resident, the first-born son of Carmela (Buonanotte) and Ed Budynkiewicz, Sr. in the little Italy section of Wilmington and raised at 2nd and Clayton Streets. He attended St. Thomas the Apostle grade school, where he was a cub scout, boy scout, and altar boy, and a member of the schools first CYO football team. He graduated from Salesianum High School, Class of 1959. Shortly after went on to serve honorably in the United States Navy. He worked most of his life as sales manager and eventually retired from Deals on Wheels. He was also member of the American Legion, Durney Post 27, VFW, St. Anthony's Cultural Club and the DAP.

He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed his Mexican Rivera and Caribbean vacations, as well as his time at Kirkwood Fitness Club, where he was a lifetime member, and his many breakfasts at Newport Plaza Restaurant. Bundo even marched in the St. Patrick's Day Parade for 17 years with the Durney Parade Group.

In addition to his parents, Ed is predeceased by his brother John Budynkiewicz. He is survived by brothers, Thomas, and Robert (Carol); niece, Samantha O'Loughlin (Daniel); nephews, R.J. Budynkiewicz (Chelsey) and Kyle Budynkiewicz (Trisha); And Great nieces and nephews, Sofia, Oliver, Rhett, and Reese.

He was extremely proud of his nephews, R.J. and Kyle and his niece, Samantha, and thoroughly enjoyed their get-togethers. He also loved to see his grand nieces and nephews whenever he had the chance.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday April 15, 2026, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 301 N Bancroft Pkwy, Wilmington, DE 19805 where friends and family may call from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 11 A.M. Entombment to follow at Cathedral Cemetery.
