Edmund "Sonny" Raymond Roman, Jr., 81, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 28, 2022 at his home.

Edmund was born in Wilmington, DE, the son of the late Adelene "Ann" Veasey and Edmund Raymond Roman Sr. Ed served in the Army National Guard. After serving he then pursued a career as a truck driver/dispatcher with multiple companies, with the most recent being Siecks Wholesale Florist. He then proudly worked with his son at Roman Oil Company.

Edmund was an avid bowler at Pleasant Hill's bowling alley in Newport, DE. He was a longtime member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #74 on Philadelphia Pike. He loved movies, music, crossword puzzles, and watching all different kinds of sports. Most of all he took great pleasure in spending time with family, friends, and his beloved pets (Pretty girl, Romeo, and Butch).

In addition to his parents, Edmund was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Farmar and grandson, Rick Adam Fuller.

Edmund will be missed by his wife of 62 years, Theresa (Kowalski) Roman; his children and their spouses, his daughter Lisa Fuller and Ken Laface, his son David Roman, his daughter Karyn and Larry Curry, and his daughter Stacy Hoffman and John Moore; his grandchildren, Stephen (Sarah), Stephanie, Lauren (Randy), Morgan, Brittany, Autumn, and John III; siblings, Gene Wingfield, Kevin Wingfield, and Michelle Matthews; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A visitation will be held at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington on Saturday, October 8, 2022 from 10 AM to 11 AM with a memorial service beginning at 11 AM. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delaware SPCA in Newark, DE or Ronald McDonald House of Delaware .
