Charles (Chuck) Yembrick, Jr., age 86, passed away on January 9, 2018. Born 1931 in Youngstown, OH, he is the son of the late Charles, Sr. and Mary (Vitek) Yembrick. He attended Ohio State University, earning his PhD in organic chemistry. He retired in 1997 as a supervisor from DuPont, with whom he had spent over 30 years of his career as a chemist. He never lost his passion for the sciences and research, enjoying computer programming and games of all types, the Myst series being one of his favorites. He was an avid reader who kept 2-3 books going at all times and passed the love of reading onto all his children. He loved classical music, and entertained the family with everything from classical to boogie woogie on the piano.He is survived by his wife, Joan; sons, Mark and wife Therese (Kassa) Yembrick of Wichita, KS and Scott Yembrick of Wilmington; daughter, Christy Yembrick of Wilmington; and sister, Mary Jane Marsh and husband Jim of Kingman, AZ, and 7 nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be celebrated on Wednesday January 17 at 10 AM at Cokesbury Village, 726 Loveville Rd, Hockessin with a celebration of life to follow in the Cokesbury atrium.
