Douglas (Doug) Wesley Barton of Landenberg, PA and Avon, NC, age 65, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2022 with his loving wife of forty years by his side.

Doug studied at Case Western Reserve University and the University of Delaware and worked as a software engineer. Doug enriched the lives of those around him with his many passions. An avid Wolfpack basketball fan, he loved watching all kinds of sports. He enjoyed fishing Hatteras Island for decades. A skilled musician, Doug was a founding member of an accomplished local band, The Bartones. Doug will be remembered for dinner parties, excellent food, wine, and good music, not to mention his overwhelming knowledge of all things both important and trivial.

He is survived by his wife Susan Barton, his daughters Elizabeth Barton and Emily (Cory) Kohler, and his brother David (Bentley) Barton.

A Celebration of Doug's Life will be held on September 17th, please contact the family for details.
