Dougal "Doug" M. Beatson

Dougal “Doug” M. Beatson, age 81, of Wilmington, peacefully passed away on September 22 following a brief illness.

Doug was born in Wilmington. He was the son of the late Carmen (Kimball) and John Beatson. Doug graduated from P.S. DuPont high school and went on to start his own successful business, Beatson Appraisal Services Inc. In addition to running a successful real estate appraisal business, Doug was also a successful real estate agent in his younger years. Doug was a health enthusiast and enjoyed running and his membership at various health clubs. In his free time, Doug enjoyed going to the beach, especially Rehoboth, DE and Clearwater, FL; going to dinner with friends; and traveling to visit family and friends. In addition to his parents, Doug was also predeceased by his brother, John Beatson.

Doug is survived by his cousin, Tara Geise; close family friend, Bruno Caputo; and many dear family friends.

A visitation for Doug will be held on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may call from 5:30-6:30pm, with a funeral service following at 6:30pm. Burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make a memorial donation in Doug’s name to Disabled American Veterans.
