Doris Mae Hamm, 89 of Newtown, PA formerly of Wilmington passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2023.

Doris was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Caroline (Kohler) and Lambert Hines. She was a graduate of Wilmington High School and worked as a clerk and typist at Colonial National Bank. She loved travelling, dancing, listening to country music and her beach home at Rehoboth. Doris was especially dedicated to her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband, Chester "Chet" Hamm in 2007 and her siblings, Shirley West, Lambert "Jack" Hines and Roger Hines.

Doris will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Dave Sullivan of Newtown, PA; her sons, Michael West of Modesto, CA and David West and his wife, Anna Marie of Rock Hill, SC; her eight grandchildren, Matthew Stempien, Andrew Sullivan, Megan Nan, Trey, Daniel, Jason, Marc and Matthew West; her four great-grandchildren, Samuel and Rylie West and Brooklynn and Logan Nan; her sisters and their husbands, Alice and Bill Bond of Middletown and Susan and Kerry Smith of Elsmere; her step-children, Linda Martin, Jennifer Messimer and Larry Hamm and her three step-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 10 to 11 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11 AM. Entombment will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association, www.alz.org.
