Donald Paul Bradley, 90 of Wilmington passed away peacefully on Monday, November 27, 2023 at Shipley Living in Skilled Nursing.
Don was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Sarah J. (Crockett) and Stanley J. Bradley. He was a 1951 graduate of Salesianum School and attended the University of Delaware. Don served his country in the U.S. Army as a Morse Code Interceptor during the Korean Conflict. He worked over 20 years as a models engineer for Hercules, Inc.
Don was an avid golfer at Hercules Country Club and Delaware National Golf Club. He served as a volunteer for the LPGA Golf Tournament at the DuPont Country Club for many years. Don was also a regular bowler and participated in a number of leagues and tournaments in the Wilmington area. He loved to hunt and fish and took a number of fishing trips with his Hercules colleagues. Don piloted his own boat on the waters of Lake Moultrie and Lake Marion South Carolina, fishing for land locked stripers, while living in Spartanburg, SC. He was an avid University of Delaware football fan and attended many games and road trips with his brother, Stan and the Stahl Post. Don had a great voice and sang with the Delaware Barbershopper's Choral Groups locally and in many national competitions. He was a former member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, Don was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Helen and David Faraone, his brother-in-law, Charles F. "Chick" Mealey, Sr. and his sister-in-law, Vada M. Bradley.
Don will be missed by his brother, Stanley J. Bradley of Wilmington; his sister, Mildred B. Mealey of Elizabethtown, PA and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME 2509 Limestone Road on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 11 AM, where friends may visit after 10 AM. A private burial will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Salesianum School, 1801 N. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19802.
