Dennis Allen Mason Sr., age 76, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

Dennis was born on October 11, 1947 in Memorial Hospital in Wilmington, son of the late Mary (Davis) and Charles Roy Mason.  He grew up in West Grove, where his family owned the local service station and towing company, which is where he developed his love for cars.  Dennis graduated from Avon Grove high school in 1965 and while working full time, he also attended Lincoln University and went on to graduate in 1972.  In between, he had his son and namesake Dennis, in 1970.  Dennis would go on to work in management in various retail and automotive endeavors for over two decades before returning to school.  Dennis attended the University of Delaware in the 90's and received his certification in Paralegal Studies and went on to work for Young Conway Stargatt & Taylor until his retirement almost two decades later.

Dennis was an engaged member of the Blue Hen and Delaware Seashore Parrot Head Clubs and loved attending Parrot Head events.  He enjoyed spending time at the beach, his house in Ocean View and visiting various beaches in Florida, particularly Fort Meyers, FL. He enjoyed live music at happy hour, classic cars, and visiting with friends and family. Dennis was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching Phillies, Eagles and Flyers games.  Dennis and his son attended several Eagles and Flyers games together and he would reminisce about, "the old days."  Dennis and his son also shared a love for the University of Delaware Blue Hens, attending several games over the years. In addition to his parents, Dennis was predeceased by his brother, Charles; and sisters, Mary, Elsie, And Shirley.

Dennis is survived by his son, Dennis A. Mason II; grandchildren, Ridgely Moore, Daniel and his spouse, Ashley Moore, Amanda and her spouse, Nichole Urbelas, great granddaughter, Avery Urbelas; former wife, Mary Mason; brothers in law, Bill and Bernard Lyons and their wives Ann and Gloria; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends whom he all loved.

A Celebration of Life for Dennis will be held on Monday, November 13, 2023, from 2pm to 4pm at Tyler's Bar and Grill, 5343 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808.
