Denise R. Craft

Denise Carney Craft, 62, of Newark, Delaware, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2026, with her husband, Robert by her side.

Born to Michael and Brenda Carney on April 30, 1964, Denise spent many years spending summers in Dewey Beach playing softball and creating so many childhood memories with friends from Newkirk Estates and Crofton.

A homemaker throughout much of her life, Denise found joy in the simple things that brought people together. She loved sitting on her patio listening to music, spending time at the beach, and hosting holiday dinners where family and friends always felt welcome. Her home was a gathering place filled with warm smells, good food, and lasting memories.

Denise was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Brenda Carney, and her sister Michele Michalcewiz.

She is survived by her husband and high school sweetheart, Robert, her daughter, Christine Denton and husband Robert; her son, Michael Craft and wife Amanda; and her four cherished grandchildren, Juliana and Robbie Denton, and Liam and Emma Craft. She is also survived by her sisters, Kathleen Denver (Brett) and Melissa Carney Pope (Mitch); brother-in-law, Bill Michalcewiz; along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Denise’s memory by spending time with those you love and enjoying a rum and Coke on your favorite patio or porch.
