Denice Marie
Fioravanti
July 13, 1955 – October 24, 2023
With hearts overflowing with love, we share the news of Denice Fioravanti's passing; a beloved mother, cherished Grammy, and a dear friend to countless souls. Born July 13, 1955, her life was filled with the joy of spending precious moments with family and friends. Denice was a doting mother to four children, and her love for them knew no bounds. Her role as Grammy brought her immense happiness, as she cherished the moments spent with her nine grandchildren.
She worked as a respected legal secretary for 40 years at law firms in both Pennsylvania and Delaware and retired in 2012.
Denice loved the summer. She spent many happy moments with her family and friends at Yorklyn pool. Above all, she loved Rehoboth Beach; enjoying time swimming in the ocean, building sandcastles, and endless hours at Funland, riding the rides, and playing boardwalk games. We always left with armfuls of stuffed animal prizes. A beach day was not complete without a visit to Candy Kitchen, a bucket of fries, chocolate dipped ice-cream cone and a slice of her favorite Grotto's pizza with a sprinkle of salt. For the last 20 years she enjoyed Sunday dinner outings with her devoted friend, John Reagan. Even on her worst days she found a way to make people laugh with her uncanny wit and sarcasm.
Denice was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Joan Fioravanti; brother, James Fioravanti; and beloved dog Elvis.
She will be greatly missed by her children and their spouses, Jessica Brown and husband Rick, Brenda McCall and husband Jamie, Cheryl Connell and husband Michael, and Jason Paloni and wife Dana; her brothers, Bernard Fioravanti Jr., David Fioravanti and Timothy Fioravanti and wife Kate; her nine grandchildren, Breanna Brown, Amber Veloz-Brown (Christina), Madison Brown, Emma Brown, Erica Brown, Brooks McCall, Basher McCall, Bernard Paloni, and Emilia Paloni; her soon to be great-grandson, Broderick Javier Veloz-Brown, whom she was excited to meet as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held on Saturday October 28th, 2023 from 3 P.M. to 4 P.M with funeral services beginning at 4 P.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations in Denice's name to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Shopping Center, 2nd Floor, Newark, DE 19711.
