David E. Ganswith, age 67, passed away on January 20, 2016 at the Heartland Hospice House surrounded by family.He was born in Amsterdam, New York, a son of Florence Bowman and the late William L. Ganswith. David was a retired career veteran of the U.S. Air Force as a Sargent in the Supply Systems and Distribution Command, where he was awarded the Air force Commendation, Air Force Achievement with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, AF Outstanding Unit with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, AF Good Conduct with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters, USAF NCO PME Graduate Ribbon, Humanitarian Service, AF Longevity Service Award Ribbon with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, National Defense Service, AF Overseas Ribbon- Long with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, AF Overseas Ribbon- Short with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, AF Training Ribbon, Viet Nam Service, Republic of Viet Nam Gallantry Cross with Palm, and the Republic of Viet Nam Campaign Medals. He is survived by his wife, Wanda Young Ganswith; two daughters, Alysha Williams (Anthony) of Philadelphia, and Monique Ganswith, companion of Davon Silver of North Carolina; 1 grandson, Ryan Silver; 1 granddaughter, Kira Wilkerson; two brothers, Lawrence (Ericka) Ganswith and Steven Ganswith, both of Florida; three sisters, Celeste Jones of Virginia, Sandra and Michele Ganswith, both of Florida. All services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Entombment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, Delaware.
