Danny Joseph Caputo, Jr., age 68, of Newark, DE passed away on July 15th, 2025. Born in Wilmington, Danny was the son of Dan Caputo, Sr. and the late Patricia Caputo. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. He graduated from St. Mark's High School and graduated from Salisbury University with his degree in accounting. Danny was a self-employed accountant and had a close relationship with many of his clients that turned into valued friendships. He was always active, where over the years he played softball, bowling, and golf. He also played volleyball and coached girls volleyball for St. John's, St. Catherine's, and St. Matthew's. Danny and his wife, Cheri, enjoyed vacationing at the beach and the Florida Keys. They also frequented many establishments including Hooters in Newark and were friendly with many of the staff and locals.

In addition to his mother, Danny was predeceased by his brothers, David and Robert "Bobby" Caputo. He is survived by his wife, Cheri Duvall; his father, Dan Caputo, Sr.; his children, Michael Caputo (Tracy), Jeffrey Caputo (Tara), Laura Caputo, and Aidan Osbourne; his stepchildren, Kyle Shufelt, Brian Shufelt, Steven Duvall, and Kirsten Crowder; his grandchildren, Anthony, Jordyn, Ethan, Rylan, Hudson, Mira, Delaney, and Lily; his sister-in-law, Suzanne Caputo; and host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

A visitation will be held at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE on Thursday July 24th from 3 P.M. to 7 P.M. A funeral service will be held the following morning at 11 A.M. at Mealey Funeral Homes. Burial will be held at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
