Dannie Lee Carson, age 69, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 18, 2024.

Dannie was born in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Clara Louise Carson. Dannie moved around a lot in his childhood, growing up in Granger, OH, and graduating from high school in Virginia Beach, VA. Dannie became a maintenance supervisor at many local apartment complexes for Jaffe Enterprise until his retirement. Dannie was quite an outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, and playing baseball, basketball, football, hockey, and softball with his friends. In his free time, Dannie was a true Philadelphia sports fan, enjoying watching and rooting for the Phillies, Flyers, and Eagles, and spending time with his dog, Trouble. In addition to his mother, Dannie was also predeceased by his brother-in-law, Mark Debonis.

Dannie is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary Carson; daughter and her husband, Christina (Tom) Welch; brother-in-law, Anthony Strupzewski; sister-in-law, Julie Debonis; nieces, Alicia Debonis and Jessica (Mike) Stenner; cousin who he grew up with, Betty Carter; and numerous close family friends whom he all loved.

A visitation for Dannie will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808, where family and friends may call from 12-1pm, with a memorial service following at 1pm. Burial will be held privately.
