Daniel J. "Danny" O'Donnell, II passed away on December 31, 2015 unexpectedly. Danny was born in Wilmington, DE, the son of Catherine Stoltenberg and the late Daniel J. O'Donnell, Sr.. He was a former electrician for the State of Delaware, Department of Transportation and had previously been a licensed electrician with The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 313. Danny loved watching sports especially the Pittsburgh Steelers, Notre Dame, Flyers and the Phillies. He enjoyed time spent at the beach and surf fishing. He loved playing music with his guitar and his favorite band was "Dream Theater". Danny loved celebrating his Irish heritage with his family. He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Susan O'Donnell Dominick.and his niece, Laura Magaw. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Laura G. Holden O'Donnell; five sisters, Karen (John) Messick, Linda (Bob) Magaw, Anne Marie (Ron) Thawley, Patty (Stanley) Lukaszewicz and Mary Beth (Sean) Harrington, his step father, Howie Stoltenberg; his aunt and uncles, Pat and Herb Buckalew and Jack O'Donnell; 14 nieces and nephews; one great niece and several cousins. A Rite of Christian Burial funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016 at Mealey Funeral Homes 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19805 where visitation will be held from 10 am to 11 am.
