Cynthia "Cindi" (Yannacey) Steffy, formerly of Middletown, Delaware passed away at her home in Bradenton, Florida on November 2, 2021. Her family is deeply saddened by the sudden loss of her in their lives. Cindi had recently retired to spend her days in the sunny Floridian weather with her loving husband Richard, son Christopher, and dear dog Chloe.

Cindi was born and raised in Warren Ohio with her parents Paul and Nancy Yannacey along with her siblings, Paula and Michael.  She enjoyed spending long summer days at the lake with her extended family and cousins, George, Bob, and Danny. The 2 trios could create some mischief and made fond memories.  Cindi graduated from Howland High School 1974 and gravitated toward the healthcare field becoming a phlebotomist at the local hospital. Prior to meeting her husband Richard, she had a daughter, Megan, from her first marriage. After a courtship with her soul mate, Richard, they wed and moved to Wilmington, Delaware in 1992.  They began building their life together and had 2 additional children, Emily and Christopher. Cindi worked at the local hospital for some time before she transferred to her position in the lab at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center. She enjoyed the patients that she was able to engage with and those that she eventually befriended, as they left a lasting impression on her soul.  Cindi cherished spending time with her family, watching her favorite shows snuggled up in blankets, no matter what time of year. She was a master soup and "samich" maker.  Cindi was the life of the party, always with a stellar smile, a glass of pinot in hand, ready to socialize and dressed to impress. Cindi loved to coordinate her outfits with all her accessories and was known for always having her matching pandora bracelets!  She adored the joys and blessings of her grandchildren Zachary, Aubrey, and Ella. Cindi spent time with her grandchildren whenever she could, and she was proud to be their GiGi. More recently, she began to enjoy the freedom to travel that retirement had brought, allowing for more weekend getaways.  She also looked forward to her evenings with "the Girls" for dinner and drinks.  Since retiring she was eager to begin a new chapter in Florida, building her dream home and enjoying all the beach time she could with Richard by her side.

Cindi is preceded in death by her Parents, Paul J. Yannacey, Nancy A. (Scarpaci) Yannacey, brothers Paul J. Yannacey, James P. Yannacey; and brother-in-law Ray Gorby.  She is survived by her husband Richard J Steffy, daughters, Megan L (Enos) Byrne (Chris), Emily E. Steffy, son, Christopher R. Steffy, sister Paula (Yannacey) Gorby, and brother Michael Yannacey.  She will be sorely missed her grandchildren, Zachary, Aubrey and Ella, as well as her nieces and nephews. Cindi had a special place in her heart for her mother-in-law Shirley Zavatsky whom she adored and her Dahmen family.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, January 17, 2022. A visitation will begin at 9:30 am at St. John the Beloved Roman Catholic Church, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808, followed by Mass at 10:30 am.  Burial will be held privately.
