Good night, sweet prince, And flights of angels sing thee to thy rest. Collin Shevlin Zwickert, age 13, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 22, 2020. Collin was born in Newark, DE to Heather (Wirt) and Christian Zwickert. An injury sustained during his birth left Collin with life-long medical complications. Collin was a force to be reckoned with and his strength and spirit amazed and inspired everyone lucky enough to be in his life. He will be dearly missed by his entire family and all of the people he touched along the way. Collin was predeceased by his maternal and paternal grandfathers, Terry Wirt and William P. Zwickert, and his paternal grandmother, Patricia S, Zwickert. In addition to his parents, Collin is survived by his sister, Avery Zwickert and brother, Cameron Zwickert; his maternal grandmother, Donna Wirt; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family. Collin's family will be forever grateful for the care he received from the nurses, therapists, and staff at Bayada Pediatrics, his evening caregivers from the University of Delaware affectionately referred to as his "student nurses", teachers and staff from the John G. Leach School and the Delaware Program for Children with Deaf-Blindness, the doctors, nurses, therapists, social workers, and staff at A.I. duPont Hospital for Children, and staff at United Cerebral Palsy of Delaware. The family is also thankful for the support and guidance received over the last several months from the Palliative Care team at A.I. duPont and Delaware Hospice. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Elizabeth Roman Catholic Church, Clayton and Cedar Streets, Wilmington, DE 19805 at 11 A.M.
