Christine J. Spinden, age 69, passed away peacefully at her place of residence after a long battle with cancer, on October 26, 2022.

Born in Miami Florida, and moving to Wilmington shortly after, Christine (Chrissy) was the daughter of the late Ruth (Jernstrom) Werst of Perkasie Pennsylvania and Daniel Harney of Wilmington.  She graduated from high school and went on to be a Unit Clerk at Wilmington Hospital until her retirement and was known for how much she loved cats!  In 2016, she became a resident at the Lorelton Assisted Living facility and within a short time became part of their welcoming committee, helping new residents feel loved, accepted and part of the warm Lorelton Community.  In more recent years, she could be found playing her favorite card game 'Kings In The Corner' with her resident friends and family on their visits. She will be deeply missed by all.

In addition to her parents, Chrissy was preceded in death by her husband Robert Spinden, her daughter Theresa Kirby and her brother Robert Pilong.

Chrissy is survived by her children and grandchildren: son Dan Harney (wife Jessica) - their children Brennan, Grayson, Fiona and Isla; and daughter Ruth (Kirby) Stewart (partner Christen) - their children Joey, Ryan and Taylor.

Chrissy is also survived by her sister and many nieces and nephews: sister Donna (Pilong) Chambers (husband Kirk) - their children Shawn Chambers (wife Angela) - children Brandon (his sons Logan and Eithan), Sam, Renee, Robert and Rebecca; Michelle (Chambers) Magana (husband Joey deceased) - children Joey and Antonio; and Jennifer (Chambers) Conner (husband Tim) - children Maisey and Saidey.

Funeral services will be private.
