Chong "Sonnie" Normand passed the morning of Sunday, March 19th, 2023, at the age of 73. Originally from South Korea, she took great pride in being a US citizen and put her all into everything she did. Her family was her world and she excelled at being first wife, a mom, and then a grandmother. She met Lou, her husband of 54 years, in Korea while he was serving in the US Army. The two of them hit it off quickly and were married a short time later.

She was an avid gardener, enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and talking to everyone she would find on her way. When not outdoors, she often passed the time playing solitaire with her set of Korean cards. She also insisted everyone who came to visit eat until they were stuffed. No one ever left her house hungry.

She is survived by her husband Louis "Lou"; only son William "Bill" (Yanitza); and her two grandchildren Joey and Alex.

There are no events planned, per her request.
