Age 48, of New Castle, DE, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at Compassionate Care Hospice surrounded by her family.Born in Wilmington, Catherine was the daughter of the late John and Sheridan (Britton) Walls. She was a 1986 graduate of Howard High School. She was a den mother for the Three Rivers District and coached Suburban and Wilmington Little Leagues. She was an avid motorcycle rider and participated in various charity rides. She was also a member of the VFW-Atbury-Churchman Road Post.She will be dearly missed by her husband of 25 years, Cary J. Sumser; her children, Amy Trout and her husband Brian of Punxsutawney, PA, Cary Sumser, Jr. at home, Ellen Sumser of Clarion, PA and Samantha Sumser at home; and four grandchildren, Hannah, Timmy, Damien and Ivy. Also surviving are her step sister, Chris Kelly and her husband, Paul; her step brother, Bill McAllister; her brother, John Walls; and her stepmother, Nancy Walls. Friends and family are invited to visitation on Saturday, July 16th after 11 AM at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington where funeral services will begin at 1 PM.
