Catherine (Annie) Burton, age 83, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on August 5, 2025.

She was born in Towanda, PA, the daughter of the late Margaret (Whyte) and Frederick Hatch. She graduated from Goldey Beacom and worked for DuPont and the Register of Wills.

Catherine was a loving aunt, sister, and friend. She often took care of stray cats, working to find them a home.

In addition to her parents, Catherine was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret Emerson and Rachel Socha; and her brother, Frederick Hatch.

Catherine is survived by her loving husband, Richard Burton, and her sister, Mary Hatch, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A special "thank you" to her wonderful caregivers: Celeste Hendrix, Lisa Amato, and Tawaina Pennewell.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 19,2025 at St. Matthew's Catholic Church at 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804, where friends and family may call from 10:00AM to 11:00AM, with service to follow beginning at 11:00AM.
