Obituary

Carol Marie Kane (Ruch), age 76, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Wednesday July 14, 2021 surrounded with love from her family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Carol was the daughter of the late John and Theresa Ruch. She was a graduate of St. Alice's School in Upper Darby, PA and Archbishop Prendergast High School in Drexel Hill, PA. Carol went on to work for Catholic Charities in Delaware. She was a member of St. John the Beloved Church and involved in the CYO ministry. Carol enjoyed traveling to Ireland, Italy, Aruba, California and numerous trips to Bermuda, Disney World, the Jersey Shore, and Bethany and Rehoboth Beaches. She enjoyed "Magical Gatherings" with her family. Carol was a proud grandmother. Her grandchildren called her "Muzzy" and her greatest joy was spending time with them. Carol was beloved by many and touched the lives of all who had the opportunity to know her. In addition to her parents, Carol was predeceased by her husband, Neal J. Kane, Sr. in 2008. Carol will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Neal and Michele Kane of Wilmington, DE, her daughter and son-in-law, Susan and John Hally of Wilmington, DE, her son and daughter-in-law, John and Angie Kane of St. Louis, MO, her son and daughter-in-law, Matthew and Tricia Kane of Fairfield, CT; her ten grandchildren, Patrick, Nate, Andrew, Alex, Katie, Sophia, Jack, William, Michael, and Drew; her sister and brother-in-law, Janet and James Boltz of Wilmington, DE and her sister, Theresa Ruch of Wayne, PA; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the medical and nursing staff for their kindness and care during Carol's stay. A visitation will be held on Thursday July 22, 2021 from 10 A.M. to 11:30 A.M with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11:30 A.M. at St. John the Beloved Church, 907 Milltown Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
