Carleen D. Alexander, age 83, of Newark, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, August 18, 2022.

Carleen was born in Havre de Grace, MD, daughter of the late Noma and Carl Roberts. She graduated high school and went on to start her successful career as a florist, eventually retiring from Mendenhall Florist. In her younger years, she enjoyed shopping and traveling, specifically to the Whiteface Mountains in New York and Williamsburg, Virginia. Additionally, she performed at the former at The Three Little Bakers Dinner Theatre. Carleen loved making floral arrangements, donating to The Shriners, and most importantly, spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Carleen was predeceased by her husband Roger Alexander and son Jeffrey Alexander.

Carleen is survived by her daughter, Sharon Pyle (David); granddaughter, Melanie Richardson; and great-grandchildren, Julia and Jace Richardson; partner Michael Ross; sister, Brenda; niece, Lisa; nephew, Chris; a great niece and nephew; and four great-great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held privately.
