Bonita Susan Salvatore, "Sue" 72 of Wilmington passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, March 27, 2021. Sue was born in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of the late Lovena Palladino and Flavis Lewis. She was a graduate of St. Elizabeth High School and the Academy of Hair Design. Sue was a hairdresser and worked part-time for the New Castle County Trade & Apprenticeship Program. In addition to her parents, Sue was predeceased by her son, Louis Victor Salvatore and her brother, Vincent Palladino. Sue enjoyed spending time on her back porch eating crabs with friends and family and the beach place in Rehoboth. She was a huge "Parrothead" as a fan of Jimmy Buffett music and on one occasion was able to meet him in person. Sue was also a member of the Prince of Piedmont Lodge and the St. Anthony's Club in Wilmington. Sue will be missed by her husband of 52 years, Peter L. Salvatore; her daughter and son-in-law, Tricia Carlson and Matthew Szymanski of Elkton, MD; her son, Peter C. Salvatore of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Austin O'Neill and Chloe Carlson; her brother, Donald Palladino and her dogs, Louie and Myla. A visitation will be held on Monday evening, April 5, 2021 at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509, Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 from 6 to 8 PM. A family service will be held on Tuesday morning at 10:30 AM. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
