Obituary

Blake C. Piontkowski, age 42, passed away on Friday, May 16, 2025.

Blake was born in Wilmington, DE, son of Beth (Sanders) and Gene Piontkowski. He was a graduate of Thomas McKean High School and completed trade school as a sheet metal mechanic.  He worked in construction and more recently in inventory management for several companies. Throughout school he enjoyed music and sang in the All State Choir.  He was a member of Boy Scout Troop 919 thru St. Catherine of Sienna Church and achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.  He loved the outdoors and the many camping trips he took including a trip to Philmont.

In his youth he spent many summers at the Westminster Pool with friends and swam on the swim team.  He also played baseball through local sports groups. Blake enjoyed country music, all things Harry Potter and was a hugh Eagles fan.  He was a talented cook and baker and prepared things from kimchi to his famous cream puffs.  He enjoyed being in the kitchen and sharing the things he made.  He was an accomplished snow skier and spent many weekends in the Poconos with family.  Blake developed a love for reading at a young age and was always reading a good book.

Some of his favorite places were being at the family beach house and spending time out on the boat in the Indian River Bay with friends and family.  He also loved all the vacations with his grandparents and cousins traveling to Disneyworld from the time they were small children until most recently in February.

Blake is predeceased by, maternal grandparents Jean and Leonard Sanders and aunt, Linda Pagliaro. He is survived by his parents, Beth and Gene Piontkowski.  Sisters Abigail Pantalone (Tony) and Jenna Smith (Jeff) beloved niece Selena and grandparents Eugene and Shizuko Piontkowski.   Several aunts and uncles and many cousins.  Also left behind is the family dog, Nikko who he loved and affectionately called "meatball".

Blake will be forever loved and missed by his family.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or Faithful Friends.

A visitation for Blake will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025 at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M.. Burial will be held privately.
