Betty Jo Hanson Heller, age 90, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on March 5, 2024.

Born in Lewisburg, WV, she was the daughter of the late Lucille (Donaldson) and Sterling Ray Hanson. Betty worked for the Federal Housing Administration in addition to working in private insurance. Most importantly, she was a homemaker for her family. In her free time, Betty loved spending time with her friends and family, cherishing every moment she spent with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, John M. Heller; brothers, Carrol R. Hanson and Lonnie L. Hanson; brother-in-law, John P. White; nephew John K White; and niece Diana Jeandell. She is survived by her son, Stephen C. Heller; grandchildren, Alexandra, Brianna, and Aribeth; her sister, Lois White; nephews, Dennis (Susan) Hanson, Roger Hanson (Andrew Santos), and Paul Hanson; and nieces, Joyce Trombley, Linda (Randy) Green, and Shirley (John) Dericco.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday March 12th, from 11-11:30 A.M., with funeral services beginning at 11:30 A.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will follow at Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery, West Chester, PA.
