Barbara M Radka, was called home to our Lord on Friday June 3, 2016 at the age of 88. Barbara was born on March 24, 1928 in Ellendale, Delaware to the late Frederick W and Margaret M Jones (nee Hitchens). Her family moved to Wilmington where she graduated from Ursuline Academy and the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She completed her education later in life with a degree from Wilmington University. Her nursing career began as an office and operating room nurse to Edmund G Laird MD and later as an operating room nurse for the Wilmington General Hospital. She retired from Christiana Care Health Services in 1990. Her favorite activities were around her sewing abilities, travelling to visit her children and reading her detective novels. She moved to Bethany Beach, Delaware in 2000. She was predeceased by her first husband Thomas J Manley Jr, and daughter Judith A McCormack. Barbara is survived by her second husband, John L Radka; her children Thomas J Manley III ( Mary), of Georgia, Frederick J Manley of New Jersey, Nancy J Davis of Delaware and Gerald Manley (Colleen) of North Carolina; her step children,James Radka ( Kathy) of New Jersey, Paul Radka of Virginia and Leon Radka of Delaware; 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 6 Step grand children A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. where visitation will begin at 10:00 at St. John the Beloved Parish, 907 Milltown Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery.
