Barbara Jean Lucas (née Quinn) passed away on September 26, 2023, surrounded by family.  She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Steven W. Lucas; daughter, Kerry Lucas; son, Timothy Lucas; and sister, Elizabeth Hogan.  She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Gertrude Quinn and her brother Philip Quinn.

Barbara was born on March 1, 1943, in Long Branch, NJ and grew up in West Virginia, Texas, and Delaware.  Barbara attended Ursuline Academy in Wilmington, DE and the College of New Rochelle and University of Delaware.

Barbara married Steven on August 27, 1966. The couple lived in several locations and military bases while Steven served in the US Army.  The couple settled in Wilmington, DE in 1972.

Barbara was a homemaker and raised her two children in addition to volunteering her time to numerous organizations including the March of Dimes, school PTAs, and the Girl Scouts.  Barbara was an avid reader and enjoyed needlework in her spare time.

Barbara was compassionate and kind and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A memorial service will be held at St. Mark's United Methodist Church at 1700 Limestone Road on October 5, 2023, at 11:00am with visitation starting at 10:00am.
